FAQs
What you may want to know before getting in touch.
These answers are written to make the first step easier, without asking you to share sensitive clinical details online.
Is The Anxiety and Trauma Clinic an emergency service?
No. The Anxiety and Trauma Clinic is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger or at risk of harming yourself or someone else, contact your nearest emergency service or go to your nearest emergency room.
What should I include in my first message?
Please include your name, contact details and a short sentence about the type of enquiry. Avoid sharing highly sensitive clinical information in the first message.
How can the Anchor-Based Approach help with anxiety?
The Anchor-Based Approach makes the wider anxiety pattern visible. It maps how worry, avoidance and daily pressures are affecting the parts of life that usually provide stability, then turns that understanding into focused therapeutic work.
Is ABA suitable for trauma?
The Anchor-Based Approach gives trauma work a structured view of the areas often disrupted by trauma, including sleep, relationships, work, emotional regulation and a person's sense of safety. The pace and priorities are established through clinical assessment and adjusted as treatment develops.
Do I need to understand the whole model before starting?
No. The approach is explained step by step in therapy. You do not need any prior knowledge or a perfectly formed goal before you begin.
Is ABA a course or therapy?
At the clinic, the Anchor-Based Approach is a structured therapeutic framework integrated into psychological treatment. It is not a self-help course or a fixed programme applied in the same way to everyone.
